Citrus Ornge Media, How refreshing!
Our new finalised strapline isn’t the only thing we are celebrating at the moment…
Last Friday the 26th of April was the first of many team planning sessions designed to build Citrus Ornge into the employer we aspire to be.
What did we do?
The day was arranged and facilitated by Organisational Development expert, Carmel Millar who had prepared some excellent talks and activities with the goals to:
- build on our organisational and employer ethos, culture and reaffirm our offering together;
- outline some of our plans for the next 12 months and align the collective goals for the business;
- continue to build great relationships at work.
Each guest had a role to play, whether it was participating in lively discussions or leading presentations in order to help us shape our internal and external HR and employer engagement strategy.
Getting to know you
We are coming to the end period of our first year of trading and now have brilliant full and part-time team membersand are being joined by some extremely strong and experienced influencers. What better opportunity for a team ice-breaker than having the team all in one room!
The in-house team at Citrus were joined by our new advisory board members, partners and our PR partners.
Along with Carmel Millar we hosted Ian Woolley, Chief Revenue Officer at Ensighten and Charlie Curtis, MD of Moriati Digital Group. The two have been a part of Citrus Ornge Founder, Jason Baker for many years and will play a huge role in the company’s ongoing development. Watch this space for further announcements!
Our partner Robert Robinson of Pavilions Drug & Alcohol Services attended to share in his experiences of how the organisation continues to re-shape drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services for the people of Brighton & Hove. Its core ambition being to make the community a better place to live, learn, work and socialise.
Last but certainly not least we were joined by Lloyd Gofton and Rose O’Callaghan of Liberate Media; PR and Social Media agency that is continuing to incapsulate the essence of Citrus Ornge within thoughtful storytelling and social strategy, to help make our mission known nationwide.
One thoughtful ice breaker that really injected personality into the meeting was asking guests to each bring in a personal item. In pairs, they were asked to describe to the other person exactly what makes it special to them, so that they may then share what they have learned with the rest of the room. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn something on a deeper level about everyone in the room whilst also allowing their own personalities to shine through.
At the end of the day, people respond to people that they can relate to on a personal as well as professional level. Encouraging everyone to champion being themselves and sharing their stories is part of the Citrus Ornge way!

Wehave also partnered with Unlost, the team adventure specialists, and Touch Video Academy, the smartphone video training company to assist recovering addicts by teachingDirector and adventurer Kim Sade, who was also able to pop in and introduce himself on the day. We also have a social mission at the heart of our business – to create opportunities for ex-offenders and those recovering from addiction through several work experience and mentoring initiatives with local community partners in Brighton and Hove.
